Award Recognises Project Cargo Transport

The Heavy Lift Awards organisers have named nine finalists for the 2026 Overland Transport Provider of the Year award. The category recognises an equipment-owning company that has completed an outstanding heavy or oversized project cargo movement by road, rail or inland waterway.

According to the award criteria, judges consider safety, efficiency and timely delivery, as well as the use of specialised equipment, technology and innovative engineering solutions.

Nine Companies Make the Shortlist

The 2026 finalists are Allelys, Çaba & Misnak, CJ ICM, Collett & Sons, Hareket, Laso Transportes, Mammoet, Pesado Transport and Schmidbauer Group, according to Heavy Lift & Project Forwarding International.

Their entries cover complex movements of heavy energy and industrial equipment requiring route surveys, special permits and close coordination with road and infrastructure authorities.

Allelys Moves Almost 49,000 Tonnes

UK-based Allelys highlighted its project cargo operations during 2025. The company transported 280 cargo units requiring special-order permits, with a combined weight of 49,019 tonnes.

These movements required detailed route planning, infrastructure assessments and coordination with the relevant road authorities. The scale and complexity of the programme helped secure Allelys a place on the shortlist.

Çaba & Misnak Delivers 400-Tonne Transformer

Türkiye-based Çaba & Misnak was shortlisted for transporting a 400-tonne, 730 MVA transformer. Manufactured by BEST Transformer in Balıkesir, the unit was delivered to the Hamitabat Power Plant during a nine-day operation.

The company used a specialised girder bridge system for the movement. According to Çaba & Misnak, it was the heaviest transformer ever transported in Türkiye with this type of equipment.

Winner to Be Announced on October 21

The category winner will be announced at the Heavy Lift Awards ceremony at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London on October 21, 2026. The awards are organised by Heavy Lift & Project Forwarding International, with transport equipment manufacturer Goldhofer sponsoring the category.
