Autonomous tractors, AI-powered agricultural robots, and unmanned drones are rapidly becoming standard equipment across China’s farming sector. The country is accelerating the adoption of digital technologies as a key strategy for strengthening food security and improving agricultural productivity.
One of the leaders of this technological transformation is Heilongjiang Province, China’s largest grain-producing region. More than 670,000 smart agricultural machines are already in operation there, alongside unmanned farms, autonomous drones, and robotic farming systems. The mechanization rate for major agricultural operations has reached 99.28%.
Chinese companies are also advancing the development of high-tech agricultural equipment. Modern agricultural drones can treat large areas of farmland within minutes, while precision seeders and smart farming systems help improve crop yields and reduce operating costs for farmers.
Agricultural technology has also become an important export industry. Chinese smart farming equipment is now supplied to more than 60 countries, including Kazakhstan, Brazil, Indonesia, Vietnam, and many others. The government plans to continue investing in agricultural robotics, autonomous machinery, and intelligent farm management systems to maintain China’s leadership in both food production and agricultural innovation.
