According to Reuters, Sweden has decided to purchase HIMARS high-mobility artillery rocket systems from US defense company Lockheed Martin. Swedish Defence Minister Pal Jonson announced the decision.

The deal will be worth around 7 billion Swedish crowns. Under the contract, Sweden will receive approximately 10 HIMARS systems, along with ammunition. Deliveries are planned to begin in 2027.

Ammunition for the systems will be produced by Swedish defense company Saab in cooperation with Lockheed Martin.
