China has successfully launched the SEO satellite from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in Shanxi Province. The Long March-2C carrier rocket lifted off at 11:02 a.m. local time on August 17 and placed the satellite into its designated orbit. The launch was reported by China Global Television Network (CGTN).
For China’s space industry, this was more than just another launch. The Long March-2C mission marked the 664th flight of the Long March rocket family, one of the main pillars of China’s space program.
The SEO satellite was deployed into orbit as planned. CGTN did not disclose detailed specifications of the spacecraft or information about its future missions.
The Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center, where the rocket was launched, is primarily used for deploying Earth-observation, meteorological and other satellites.
The latest mission is another step in the expansion of China’s satellite fleet and reflects the continued development of the country’s space infrastructure.
