Chinese businesses are strengthening support for Zambia’s education system by investing in the construction of new schools, renovating existing educational facilities, and creating better learning conditions that provide children with access to quality education.

For thousands of children living in rural Zambia, the path to education was either out of reach or literally too long. Due to a shortage of schools, many students had to travel far from home to study or abandon their education altogether. Today, that reality is beginning to change thanks to Chinese companies investing in school construction and the development of educational infrastructure.

One such initiative is Minsenga Secondary School, built by the Chinese mining company Sino-Metals Leach Zambia Limited (SMLZL) in the town of Kalulushi. Modern classrooms, new equipment, and high-quality learning materials are now available to hundreds of children from surrounding communities.

Chinese companies emphasize that supporting education is an investment in the country’s future. In addition to building new schools, SMLZL is renovating existing educational facilities, providing them with new furniture, and helping children from low-income families continue their studies. As a result, more students now have the opportunity to pursue their dreams and one day become doctors, teachers, engineers, and other highly skilled professionals.
