Nearly 4,800 enterprises with foreign capital increased their investments in China during the first six months of 2026, highlighting the continued confidence of international businesses in the Chinese market. The announcement was made by Yan Dong, Vice Minister of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China.
According to Yan Dong, the number of newly established foreign-invested enterprises rose by 5.3% year-on-year during the first half of the year. At the same time, the actual use of foreign direct investment (FDI) reached more than 400 billion yuan (approximately USD 59.2 billion).
The strongest growth was recorded in high-tech industries, where foreign direct investment surged by 33.2% compared with the same period last year. China’s Ministry of Commerce noted that this trend reflects the ongoing optimization of the country’s foreign investment structure and the sustained interest of international companies in China’s high-potential economic sectors.
