The Attack Hit Warehouse Infrastructure
Russia launched a combined attack against Kyiv and the surrounding region overnight into August 20, 2026. Fires and destruction were recorded at residential, industrial and warehouse facilities, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.
Yves Rocher Ukraine and ice cream producer Fayni Lyodu subsequently reported damage to their warehousing operations. Both companies are assessing the consequences and reorganising their logistics.
Yves Rocher Suspends Online Orders
A warehouse holding Yves Rocher Ukraine products sustained significant damage. The company temporarily stopped accepting new online orders while assessing its inventory and infrastructure.
The warehouse where we store our products was significantly damaged. We are temporarily suspending online orders and working to restore operations, the company said
Customers with existing orders will receive status updates after the assessment is completed. Yves Rocher’s physical stores remain open, although some locations may carry a limited range of products, according to the company’s official Ukrainian Facebook page.
The company has not announced how long the suspension will remain in effect.
Fayni Lyodu Warehouse Served 13 Cities
Fayni Lyodu’s distribution warehouse in Kyiv was completely destroyed. The facility supplied ice cream to the capital and 12 other Ukrainian cities.
The company said tonnes of ice cream, technical and refrigeration equipment and delivery vehicles were lost. No employees were injured.
Overnight, missiles destroyed our distribution warehouse in Kyiv, Fayni Lyodu said in its official statement
The producer is searching for alternative storage capacity and new delivery arrangements. Customers were warned that product availability and the range of ice cream offered in affected cities could be temporarily reduced.
Rebuilding Cold-Chain Capacity Will Take Time
Replacing an ice cream distribution centre is particularly difficult because uninterrupted refrigeration must be maintained. An ordinary warehouse cannot perform the same role without cold-storage chambers, backup power and specialised vehicles.
Yves Rocher will also need to redistribute inventory through stores, partner facilities and any available reserve capacity. The immediate effects may include delayed online orders and the temporary absence of individual products.
Neither company has announced a complete shutdown. There is currently no evidence that the warehouse losses will cause a nationwide shortage of their products.
