China is expected to supply 300–400 QW-12 and FN-16 portable missile systems designed to engage low-flying aircraft, helicopters, and drones. The first batches of the weapons are reportedly scheduled to arrive in Iran in the near future.
According to sources, the shipments will initially depart from Urumqi in western China before transiting through Pakistan. However, Islamabad has denied any involvement in facilitating the transportation of the military equipment.
Military analysts believe that the large-scale acquisition of mobile air defense systems will help Iran rapidly strengthen the protection of military installations and critical energy infrastructure damaged during the recent conflict. If the agreement is fully implemented, it will become one of the largest known deliveries of Chinese short-range air defense systems to Tehran in recent years.
