German tire manufacturer Continental continues to strengthen its position in the military mobility sector by expanding its portfolio for armed forces and specialized vehicle manufacturers. The company’s latest developments were showcased at Eurosatory 2026, one of the world’s leading defense and security exhibitions, held in Paris.
Growing demand for reliable mobility solutions in military logistics and tactical operations is driving investment in this segment. Modern armed forces increasingly require vehicles capable of operating efficiently both on public roads and in challenging off-road conditions, where reliability and mobility are critical.
At the exhibition, Continental presented an expanded range of tires designed for various categories of military vehicles. The lineup includes the HCS Traction for heavy tactical vehicles, the HCS for medium tactical and logistics trucks, and the Grabber X3 for light off-road and special-purpose vehicles.
According to Matthias Rickmann, Head of Military Tire Business Development at Continental, the company’s strategy focuses on delivering solutions tailored to the specific operational requirements of military users. Product development is supported by decades of experience in the tire industry, close cooperation with defense customers and vehicle manufacturers, as well as a global service and technical support network.
Military tires face significantly more demanding operating conditions than conventional commercial vehicle tires. They must withstand extreme loads, provide dependable traction on multiple surfaces, and maintain performance in harsh environments. Key design features include reinforced construction, enhanced durability, improved off-road capability, and reliable operation on sand, soft soil, rocky terrain, and uneven ground.
Continental emphasizes that modern military operations depend not only on combat vehicles but also on highly efficient logistics networks. As a result, the development of specialized tires plays an increasingly important role in ensuring the mobility and operational readiness of military transport fleets.
The company continues to work closely with customers across different markets, incorporating field experience and operational feedback into future product development. This approach allows Continental to adapt its solutions to the real-world demands of military operators and equipment manufacturers.
The tires presented at Eurosatory 2026 are designed to meet international standards for durability, safety, and performance, even under intensive use and maximum payload conditions. These characteristics are particularly important for military logistics operations, where vehicle reliability directly affects supply chain efficiency and rapid deployment capabilities.
Industry experts note that military logistics is becoming a key component of defense modernization strategies worldwide. This trend creates new opportunities for suppliers of specialized components, including tire manufacturers, to develop products capable of supporting military mobility in increasingly complex operational environments.
Held every two years in France, Eurosatory brings together leading defense manufacturers, military officials, government representatives, and technology providers from around the world. For Continental, the event serves as a platform to showcase technological innovation and reinforce its position in the global market for military and logistics vehicle tires.
