Compliance Rate to Reach 95%
Kazakhstan continues to modernize infrastructure for drivers and passengers. According to Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Transport, 1,429 roadside service facilities currently operate along international and national highways.
A total of 1,340 facilities, or 94%, comply with the National Standard. The authorities intend to raise the compliance rate to 95% by the end of 2026.
The modernization program covers existing facilities as well as the construction of additional filling stations, food outlets and sanitation units.
More Than 1,000 Sanitation Facilities Available
More than 170 modern modular sanitation units have been installed along Kazakhstan’s highways. Another 900 free toilets operate at rest areas and bus shelters and are available to drivers and passengers around the clock.
Depending on ownership, the facilities are maintained by KAZservice LLP, private businesses or tenants. Their sanitary and technical condition is monitored daily.
Highway Charging Network Expands
Kazakhstan currently has 67 electric vehicle charging stations along its international and national highways. The network covers most regions and continues to expand with the involvement of contractors and local authorities.
Charging infrastructure on intercity routes should make long-distance electric vehicle travel more practical. The Ministry of Transport is also attracting private investment to build new roadside facilities and modernize existing sites.
