DHL Express has announced the expansion of its GoGreen Plus sustainability program to the international Less Than Truckload (LTL) road freight segment across Europe. The new solution will enable customers to reduce the carbon footprint of their shipments through the use of Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO), which is considered one of the most effective alternative fuels for commercial road transport.
The expansion is part of DHL’s long-term strategy to decarbonize transport operations and achieve its climate objectives. At the same time, the company emphasizes that adopting greener transportation solutions will not require customers to modify their existing logistics processes or supply chains.

Company data shows particularly strong demand for international LTL services among customers in the technology, fashion, and consumer goods sectors. The most active trade lanes include Poland–Germany, Poland–France, Poland–United Kingdom, and Poland–Italy.
DHL statistics indicate growing interest in sustainable transportation solutions. In 2023, LTL services accounted for 35.5% of the company’s export shipments, highlighting the increasing demand for environmentally responsible logistics options.
The GoGreen Plus program is especially relevant for the transportation of heavy and bulky cargo. DHL’s network regularly handles not only standard shipments but also palletized goods, industrial components, and equipment requiring specialized handling.
According to company experts, cargo weight is one of the most important factors affecting transportation-related emissions. Consolidating shipments through the LTL model enables more efficient use of transport capacity while reducing empty mileage.
