Partnership Extended Until 2032

IVECO and PETRONAS Lubricants International have signed a new agreement extending their long-standing strategic partnership until 2032.

The cooperation will continue to focus on the development of IVECO URANIA engine oils and IVECO TUTELA technical fluids specifically designed for IVECO commercial vehicles.

The renewed agreement ensures that PETRONAS will remain IVECO’s official lubricant partner while supporting dealers and fleet operators across multiple markets.

More Than Five Decades of Cooperation

The two companies have worked together for more than 50 years.

During that time they jointly developed lubricant solutions alongside new generations of IVECO engines and transmissions, allowing products to match the technical requirements of each powertrain.

According to the partners, dedicated lubricants help improve engine efficiency, reduce wear and maintain long-term vehicle reliability.

Focus on Next-Generation Engine Oils

One of the latest products resulting from the partnership is Urania Next 0W-16, developed specifically for modern heavy-duty commercial vehicles.

The low-viscosity formulation is designed to improve fuel efficiency, reduce mechanical losses and lower CO₂ emissions while supporting future Euro 7 requirements.

For fleet operators, this means lower operating costs and improved readiness for upcoming environmental regulations.

Lower Total Cost of Ownership

The renewed agreement is also aimed at reducing the total cost of ownership for commercial vehicles.

Beyond fuel costs, fleet operators face significant expenses related to maintenance, unexpected breakdowns and vehicle downtime.

By extending engine life and maintaining longer service intervals, manufacturer-approved lubricants can help reduce these operating costs.

Supporting Dealers and Service Networks

PETRONAS will continue supporting IVECO’s dealer and service network with dedicated products and technical expertise.

The companies also plan to strengthen customer education and improve maintenance standards across official service centers.

Preparing for Future Technologies

Although IVECO is investing heavily in electric and hydrogen-powered commercial vehicles, diesel trucks will remain essential for long-haul transport for many years.

The partnership therefore covers both traditional diesel technologies and future mobility solutions, including specialized fluids for next-generation commercial vehicles.

By extending their cooperation until 2032, IVECO and PETRONAS reaffirm their long-term commitment to improving vehicle efficiency, reducing fleet operating costs and supporting the transition toward cleaner commercial transport.
