The Chinese city continues to strengthen its position as a major hub for embodied AI development. Local companies and research institutions are creating technologies that enable robots not only to process data but also to interact with the physical world in ways that closely resemble human behavior.

One of the most significant breakthroughs is the development of multidimensional tactile sensors by PaXini Technology. These devices allow robots to detect pressure, surface texture, and the position of objects in space, greatly expanding their capabilities in manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, and service industries.

Today, approximately 80 percent of the world’s humanoid robots use PaXini sensors. Thanks to the company’s proprietary innovations, the cost of such devices has been reduced from tens of thousands of yuan to just a few hundred yuan, making the technology accessible for large-scale adoption.

Another key component of the sector’s growth is Tianjin’s embodied intelligence training platform. Robots are trained using data collected from thousands of real-world scenarios, ranging from automotive manufacturing to everyday household tasks. The facility is expected to generate around 200 million units of high-quality training data annually.

The Tianjin government continues to actively support the robotics industry. In 2025, the city was home to more than 100 robotics-related companies, while the value of industrial output in the sector exceeded 13.5 billion yuan.

Experts believe that the combination of advanced sensors, massive data resources, and a strong industrial foundation positions Tianjin as one of the key centers shaping a new AI-driven economy powered by intelligent robotics.
