Located in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, Taicang Port exported more than 500,000 vehicles between January and May 2026, representing a 70% increase compared to the same period last year. According to Taicang Customs, this marks the highest export volume ever recorded by the port, confirming its status as one of China’s largest automotive export gateways.
Exports to countries participating in the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) saw particularly strong growth. During the first five months of the year, approximately 210,000 vehicles were shipped to BRI markets, an increase of 118% year-on-year. The figures highlight the strengthening trade and economic ties between China and its Belt and Road partners, as well as the growing international demand for Chinese-made vehicles.
Thanks to its strategic location along the Yangtze River and its advanced logistics infrastructure, Taicang Port continues to strengthen its role as a major automotive export hub, ensuring efficient deliveries of Chinese vehicles to international markets.
