In the first quarter of 2026, the container terminal at the Port of Salalah, Oman, handled 1.09 million TEU, representing a 20% increase compared to the same period in 2025.

Growth was also recorded in the general cargo segment. Between January and March, the port’s terminals handled approximately 6.68 million tonnes of cargo, up 4% year-on-year. The increase was primarily driven by higher volumes of dry bulk cargo, particularly limestone.

At the same time, the port’s operations were affected by the geopolitical situation in the Middle East. Incidents in March caused damage to parts of the port’s infrastructure and equipment, negatively impacting operational efficiency. Nevertheless, the Port of Salalah maintained positive growth momentum and continued to ensure stable cargo handling operations.
