According to Kazakhstan’s Bureau of National Statistics, road freight volumes increased by 15.5% during the January–April 2026 period compared to the same period last year.
At the same time, freight turnover grew by 8.2%, indicating not only higher cargo volumes but also longer transport distances and the expansion of international transport routes.
Positive trends were also recorded in the passenger transport sector:
- Passenger transport volumes increased by 8.9%;
- Passenger turnover rose by 3.5%.
Industry experts note that these figures reflect the gradual recovery of economic activity across the region and growing demand for transportation services.
Digitalization Becomes a Key Industry Priority
One of the central themes of the meeting was the digital transformation of the transport sector.
