Authorities have ordered large-scale inspections of high-risk areas and called for reinforced disaster prevention measures, as late July and early August mark the most hazardous period of the flood season.
This heightened vigilance follows recent tragedies in Gansu province and the Chongqing municipality, where devastating landslides claimed dozens of lives, with many individuals still missing. In Guangxi, despite power being restored after a recent typhoon, local officials remain on high alert—continuing to reinforce dikes, set up monitoring systems, and prepare for potential evacuations from high-risk zones.
