Saipem announced that it has been awarded a major Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Installation (EPCI) contract covering the design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of the FPSO. The value of Saipem’s share of the contract is estimated at approximately $2 billion.

The client is Eni North Ganal, a company controlled by Searah, the joint venture created following the merger of the upstream assets of Eni and Petronas. The project will be executed by PT Saipem Indonesia in partnership with PT Tripatra Engineers and Constructors.

The 48-month project covers the full scope of work, including detailed engineering, procurement of materials and equipment, fabrication, construction, installation, commissioning, and start-up of the FPSO. The new facility will serve as the cornerstone of the Kutei North Hub development in East Kalimantan’s Kutei Basin. The project also includes the development of subsea infrastructure and the construction of a dedicated gas export pipeline to the Bontang LNG plant as well as Indonesia’s domestic gas network.
