Young successors of family-owned companies across China are increasingly embracing digital technologies, AI-powered solutions, and modern marketing tools to help long-established businesses adapt to rapidly changing market conditions. Family enterprises account for more than 80 percent of the country’s private companies, making generational succession one of the key challenges facing China’s economy.

One example is 26-year-old Qiu Yixuan from Fujian Province, who returned to her family’s tea factory and launched her own consumer brand. To promote its products, she relies on e-commerce, livestreaming, and social media platforms, while AI-powered plantation monitoring systems help ensure product quality. Thanks to these innovations, some livestreaming sessions generate sales of up to one million yuan.

A similar path has been taken by Chen Ying from Hangzhou, who is transforming her family’s automotive service business through digital platforms and short-form video content. Other young entrepreneurs are focusing on manufacturing upgrades, brand development, and international expansion.

Experts note that today’s successors are doing more than simply carrying on their parents’ work. By combining traditional business experience with artificial intelligence, e-commerce, and digital technologies, they are creating new growth opportunities and helping reshape the future of China’s family-owned enterprises.
