UAE-based shipbuilding company Safeen Drydocks has received the largest order package in its history, with contracts valued at AED 1.3 billion. The new agreements cover the construction of 22 vessels and represent a major milestone for the country’s shipbuilding industry.

The largest project involves the design and construction of four 140-meter multipurpose vessels for AD Ports Group. The ships will be capable of carrying a wide range of cargoes as well as passengers. Each vessel will accommodate up to 105 passengers, transport approximately 300 containers, including more than 100 reefer units, and carry up to 1,000 vehicles and 100 trailers.

In addition, Safeen Drydocks has secured an international contract from Nigeria’s Oilbank Logistics Services for the construction of 18 marine support vessels, including pilot boats and tugboats. The contract provides the company with an opportunity to strengthen its position in the African market and expand its footprint beyond the Middle East.

According to AD Ports Group, the new orders demonstrate Safeen Drydocks’ capability to deliver complex shipbuilding projects for both domestic and international clients. The contracts also reflect the UAE’s ambition to further develop its maritime manufacturing sector and reinforce its position as one of the region’s leading shipbuilding hubs.
