Heavy rainfall that swept across Hunan Province in central China triggered severe flooding in the city of Zhangjiajie. Rising floodwaters inundated residential neighborhoods, leaving dozens of people stranded inside their homes.
Rescue Operation Lasted for Several Hours
Fire and rescue teams deployed inflatable boats to evacuate residents, as many streets were completely submerged. During the operation, 27 people were safely rescued and transported to secure locations.
Local emergency services continue to deal with the aftermath of the flooding while closely monitoring water levels. Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant, follow official weather advisories, and take necessary precautions, as heavy rainfall is expected to continue. Flooding caused by intense seasonal downpours remains one of the most significant natural hazards affecting several regions of central China each year.
