Chinese company Mindtrix has unveiled a promising neurotechnology that could transform the future of vision restoration. At the Shanghai Brain Intelligence World exhibition, the company showcased a brain-computer interface (BCI) designed to deliver visual information directly to the brain’s visual cortex, bypassing damaged eyes.

According to the developers, the technology is intended for people with complete vision loss who cannot benefit from conventional treatments. Rather than attempting to restore the function of the eyes, the system uses a brain-computer interface to transmit visual signals directly to the brain, where visual perception is generated.

Researchers estimate that approximately 9 million people in China are living with complete blindness, while more than 43 million people worldwide are affected. As a result, technologies of this kind are considered among the most promising areas of modern medicine and neurotechnology.

Although the project is still under development and requires further research and clinical trials, experts believe that brain-computer interfaces could open new possibilities for the rehabilitation of people with severe visual impairments and significantly improve their quality of life.
