As the world’s leading technology companies compete for leadership in artificial intelligence, Shanghai is preparing to become the center of the global AI industry. This July, the city will unveil hundreds of cutting-edge innovations, ranging from next-generation AI chips and intelligent computing platforms to humanoid robots and breakthrough digital technologies.
WAIC 2026 will feature its largest exhibition to date, with exhibition space exceeding 100,000 square meters for the first time. More than 1,100 exhibitors will present over 3,000 AI-related products and solutions, including more than 300 world premieres.
The conference will focus on generative AI, intelligent AI agents, dedicated AI chips, high-performance computing, and humanoid robotics. More than 200 companies will showcase the latest advances in digital technologies and embodied AI.
According to Shanghai authorities, the city’s AI industry has already exceeded 637 billion yuan in value, growing by nearly 40% year-on-year. Meanwhile, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology forecasts that the country’s annual production of humanoid robots will surpass 100,000 units for the first time in 2026.
WAIC 2026 will also host more than 140 international forums covering digital technologies, innovation, investment, and global AI governance. The event is expected to serve as one of the world’s leading platforms shaping the future of artificial intelligence and the digital economy.
